Stillpoint is a single level house with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths and additional sleeping area to accommodate eight people. This spacious modern home features large light-filled spaces with high-ceilings and comfortable furnishings in an open concept design. Original contemporary artwork is featured throughout the home. The well-equipped kitchen with new high end appliances and bar is adjacent to the dining room which seats eight and to the living room with its large sectional couch, LCD TV, and sliders that open to the pool. The huge master bedroom also opens to the pool, has a king bed, LCD TV, large walk-in closet, desk area, and en-suite bathroom with access to the private outdoor shower.
In the guest wing is a large versatile family room with a seating area, LCD TV, and queen sleeper sofa. The adjacent second bedroom has a queen bed. The third bedroom has one twin-over-twin bunkbed and a separate twin bed. Both have large closets. These rooms share a hallway bathroom. The guest wing rooms can be closed off for privacy from the rest of the house. There also is a laundry room with new washer and dryer.

The whole patio area is private, surrounded by tropical trees and a fenced-in yard. There are two outdoor showers.
Not only is the beach REALLY close (four houses away), but it's fun to explore the immediate area. Stillpoint is just a few blocks from lots of shops, restaurants, and bars. It's easy to walk everywhere from this house!

Bunkroom has a Pack 'n Play with mattress. The laundry room is equipped with full-sized washer & dryer, ironing board & iron. We have a linen service, so sheets, bath and beach towels are provided & laundered at the end of your stay. Extra house cleaning can be arranged. There is garage and carport access and three spaces for parking on this property. No beach parking is allowed on this street.
HURRICANE DEVASTATION OCTOBER 2024
Hurricanes Hellene and Milton
Some of you may wonder about what happened when the double hurricanes Hellene and Milton passed over the island within 10 days of each other in early October 2024. The destruction was devastating. Hellene caused a tidal surge that no one had ever experienced before bringing about 3 feet of saltwater into our home. It was full of pollutants, sand, foul scum and rotting sealife. It stuck to everything and the smell was indescribable! It also ruined everything we owned and killed much of the plantlife. The house interior was taken down to the studs and had to be dehumidified for weeks. Piles of personal belongings were unceremoniously piled high streetside to be bulldozed into dumptrucks weeks later. Then the cleaning began. We've never scrubbed so hard in our lives - and for months!
The whole island community was ravaged. It's impossible to describe the horrible effect on the everyone. It's equally impossible to describe how hard everyone worked to get things reconstructed. Homeowners, tradespeople, neighbors and community members all gave their committed energy to rebuilding. We finished the reconstruction at the end of February 2025. There was deep sadness in the face of such loss, but even plenty of unexpected moments of such generosity and grace. The community is still working hard to return to its best. We thank you for taking care of what we've worked so hard to reconstruct from scratch. AMI is a great place and we're glad you're here to enjoy it and support the community too!

Of course the beaches! They‘re so easy to get to from Stillpoint, just one block away, and are among the best in the world. You can spend your whole vacation enjoying them. But if you're looking for something else to do, here are some ideas we've complied. Fishing trips, dolphin tours, sunset cruises, golfing, kayaking, hiking trails, horseback riding, paddleboarding, all can be arranged to name just a few.
Getting around: So much of the island is walkable. There are several places in town to rent bikes or golf carts. There’s also the free trolley that makes stops all day around the island (and has an app to let you know where it is on the route). Check out Monkey bus too. It’s a “free” Ride-For Tips service. This wildly painted bus will take individuals or large groups to and from local places. You may never need to drive!
BY LAND AND SEA
- ROBINSON RESERVE - Bradenton a short drive just over our bridge. This is one our favorite places to walk, bike, kayak, birdwatch, and play. The preserve has miles great hiking and biking trails. There’s a wonderful playgound at the park’s NEST with Swiss Family Robinson-style rope climbing structures through the trees. Hike to the observation tower and look out over the Gulf coast. Dogs are allowed on a leash. Some trails have wheelchair access. Paddle though part or all of Robinson’s extensive 5.3 miles of salt marsh trails and aquatic nature preserve. This route is great for first-time paddlers and enthusiasts alike. Kayaks can be rented on AMI and delivered to the launch site in Robinson Preserve. Surferbus.com offers tours and equipment. Reservations for tours must be booked online and made at least a day in advance.
- DOLPHN TOURS - AMI. There are many options for scheduling a motorboat tour or renting a pontoon boat to see the playful dolphins, sea turtles, and the marine and bird life surrounding the island.
- FISHING - AMI.There are a number of charter companies on AMI to take you on fishing trips for all ages. You can also rent fishing gear at the Rod and Reel pier. Kids under 16 do not need a fishing license. Older ones and adults must purchase a saltwater license, even if you’re not taking away the fish. You can fish & eat at the restaurant on pier's end
- MOTE MARINE AQUARIUM - Sarasota. This aquarium is home to a diverse range of marine life - sharks, manatees, sea turtles, & more. Purchase tickets in advance online.
- APPOLO BEACH MANATEE VIEWING CENTER - South of Tampa. Open Nov. 1- Apr. 15. Protected marine reserve for manatees with a 50-ft. observation tower, trails, a boardwalk & butterfly gardens. Education center to learn about these gentle creatures. Free parking and entry. No pets.
- C PONIES HORSEBACK RIDING - Bradenton just beyond the bridge at Palma Sola Bay. Mounted trainers guide horses that will swim while you ride. After a brief brief lesson you’ll spend 60 minutes in the saddle. Children must be 10+ years old, those under 13 accompanied by an adult. Reservations needed well in advance.
- BISHOP MUSEUM OF SCIENCE AND NATURE - Bradenton. The newly renovated Manatee Rehabilitation Habitat holds 60,000 gallons of water and houses manatees that were rescued from the wild after they became sick or injured. This exhibition allows above and underwater viewing and information about the anatomy and life history of manatees. The Planetarium has a new state-of-the-art projection system allowing you to explore virtual journeys to the far reaches of the cosmos. Rotating exhibits and workshops.
- JUNGLE GARDENS, Sarasota. 10 acres of winding trails and over 200 native and exotic animals including birds of prey, many species of parrots and macaws, primates, small mammals, snakes, lizards, iguanas, alligators, crocodiles and other reptiles. Feed roaming Flamingos by hand. Parrot show, alligators and other wildlife shows daily. Tickets can be purchased website. Fun for younger children.
- RINGLING MUSEUM OF ART AND CIRCUS MUSEUM - Sarasota. The museum features John and Mabel Ringling's home, their impressive collection of antiquities and Old Master paintings and two circus museums. It's home to the State Art Museum of Florida exhibiting contemporary art from around the world. The lovely gardens are free to stroll. Admission to the art museum is free on Mondays. Enjoy a nice luncheon at their restaurant.
- SARASOTA ART MUSEUM a new contemporary art museum a 15 minute drive from the Ringling Museums.
- MARIE SELBY BOTANICAL GARDENS - Sarasota. Over 5500 species of plants are housed here along with butterflies and birds that live off of them. The gardens hold regular exhibits and workshops for kids.The Children’s Rainforest Garden is a favorite to explore caves, rope bridges and waterfalls. This is a beautiful place to visit if you love plants! My favorite place for peace and pleasure.

- BIG CAT HABITAT AND GULF COAST SANCTUARY - Sarasota. An ever-growing non-profit large-animal rescue. The sanctuary is a permanent home for over 150 exotic animals, offers placement for animals in need, and works to educate the public about animal care and conservation. Purchase tickets online or in person.
